Team Garmin was called to life in August 2007 to support a number of social riders to give the brand entry into the lifestyle culture of mountain biking. Garmin quickly became more involved with the sport by fielding a team of riders to make their presence in the mountain biking circles felt. According to Garmin people support the brands that support their sport and mountain biking fits the profile of the brand like a glove.
It was not long before the team began winning races and the winning association between the team and the Garmin brand quickly fuelled even more results driven initiatives. Investments in bigger names on the team and expanding the exclusive list of co-sponsors has established Garmin as a force to be reckoned with on the dirt.
